Sergeant Pernell passed away after suffering cardiac arrest while serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on December 31, 2010.

Foy Sr. who passed away last week at the age of 96. Foy served as New Mexico’s Sixth Judicial District Attorney from 1949 to 1956 and represented Grant and Hidalgo counties in the New Mexico House of Representatives for 14 terms before retiring in 1998.

New Mexico Governor Martinez has ordered all flags in the State of New Mexico flown at half-staff from Friday, February 18, 2011 until sunset on Saturday, February 19, 2011 in honor of United States Army Specialist Nathan Carse who died on February 8, 2011 in Afghanistan. Spc. Carse was a member of the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 176th Engineer Brigade based at New Mexico’s White Sands Missile Range.
